Find success and be your best in all things life, love, realtionships, skills, work, anything!
#1
Grow and maintain a great mindset
Until you have the abundance and positve mindset to succeed, you just won’t.
Starting your fitness journey? Believe you can, even when you feel every inch of yourself say you can’t.
New job? Believe you deserve it no matter how much unknown you are walking into. New mom? New moms happen every day! If you love that little baby, you will undoubtedly be the best mom possible.
Experiencing depression or anxiety? A scary and profoundly common thing in our world these days. I get it, I was there too. Take time to read, listen with Audible, to self help and spirituality books to elicit healing, improve thought process, and give new perspectives. Here is a list of books that got me through dark days. Keep ones that resonate with you and read them over and over.
Successful folks alike attest to the impact of writing down thoughts, dreams, and are in the habit of expressing gratitude. There are small or simple everyday blessings we often lose sight of or forget we have altogether. Start a “gratitude” journal to remind yourself what you have, even the smallest thing to be greatful for, the sun shines, freedom to choose, legs to stand on, sight, sound.
There is science to back up when we repeat to our brain what we wish to believe, it changes the brain’s chemisty. Mindset is truly everything. Focus on what you have, then what you desire, believe you deserve it and the rest will follow. Also, give yourself time and patience. It takes time to develop any certain habit and mindset is no exception.
When We Believe in Ourselves Anything is Possible!
#2
Drink plenty of water
This one is obvious but I’m telling you, most do not drink enough water. I’m talking WATER, not just fluids (juice, coffee, pop, whatever). W-A-T-E-R. H2O. All the body’s organs depend on it including our brain to function at highest capacity. If you feel thirsty, you’ve waited too long and are dehydrated. Please, please, please just drink some damn water.
Fatigue is constant. More and more woman use this exuse in every aspect of their lives. It all starts with drinking water. In the morning when you wake up, take a big drink of water. When you get in the car, take a big drink of water. When you get to the grocery store, before every meal, before a meeting, take a big drink of water.
Find a water bottle you LOVE, that fits well in your hand and is easy to drink from. There are so many out there so shop around. Buy two so you’re never without one. Keep them clean, bacteria forms quickly! I love bright colored ones (give me a sense of joy), that catch my eye to remind me to keep drinking and ones that fit in most cup holders.
Not sure how much to drink? Just start small. Everyone is different and your activity level will change the amount. I always tell everyone, start with a gallon jug of water and fill your water bottle up with that. Normally, active folks who are working out and sweating it up, need roughly a gallon of water a day. May seem like a lot but it isn’t. Just start somewhere.
These are my top choices for water bottles!
32 oz. Durable Nike Water Bottle

#3
Get quality rest
Lack of sleep is like the plague and makes you look like it too. Get some good restful sleep. Try for it every single night. The old adage that you need 8 hours of sleep every night is bogus. Studies have found that some folks need only 5 to 6 hours of “good” sleep to be their best. I have known others who say anything under 9 feels awful. Personally, I do with 7 and feel great.
We work really hard during the day. Super busy schedules that demand our focused attention. Our bed rest is the best time to rejunivate ourselves to perform at our most optimal self the next day.
Start with a great nighttime routine to support getting the best sleep possible. Create a “quiet down” time just before bed to get your head in the right place. Read a book. Take a warm bath or shower. Go for a slow stroll or quietly sit someplace dark for a few minutes. I’ve used a nightime pilates routine to wind myself down.
Repeat a nightime routine so it signals your brain and body that rest is near. Overexertion will lead to problems elsewhere in your life (work, relationships, eating, etc) and that’s definitely the opposite of what we’re trying to achieve here.

Establish routine
Those who’ve made themselves successful have some semblence of a regular routine, be it daily, weekly, monthly etc. They’re early morning risers, have time managed activities, they accomplish important tasks first thing in the daytime, have a regular exercise and eating routine. You get the idea. So that we may accomplsh the most in our day, it is wise to set up and stick to a routine.
Also, this way you can actually get something done and focus on what’s important. Make progress towards goals and at the end of the day say you’ve done your best. If you need ideas on how to create a routine here is a great article. Having a morning and nighttime routine will also set you up for success for the rest of the day.

Nurture yourself through self-care practices
This one is HUGE and encompasses all that we do for ourselves so we can actually be, well, ourselves and healthy! These are passions, hobbies, and taking care of the mind, body and soul through exercise to help maintain a healthy, strong body. Self-care is defined as what we do to maintain our vitality and avoid health complications.
There are two different types of self-care needs. You have the organic kind being your hobbies, how you like to wind down, things that are specific to you, your likes and personality and not required for others. Then you have the inorganic kind such as brushing your teeth, seeing your doctor or getting out of bed. The first are what makes us the second is what keeps us.
Self-care often gets overlooked as woman like to serve but we cannot EVER forget, first and foremost to take great care of ourselves. Ignoring our personal needs creates a ripple and hits every single aspect of our lives and without us realizing it. To have success in our lives we need to be at our best in health so, try getting up early to go to the gym, take a walk in the middle of the day, have a hot bath at the end of the day. Read a book, bake a cake, knit a blanket, plant a garden (personal favorite). You name it. Whatever your heart yearns for and what you need to do for YOURSELF is never time wasted.
And for heavens sake, please visit your doctor at least once a year. See a great chiroprator and find a phenomenal dentist. These things are necessary AND if you’re lucky enough to see the inside of a clinic only once every 6 months, that is an absolute blessing so spend a couple days out of the 365 a year to maintain your health. This is where you are absolutely allowed to be selfish and have zero guilt about any of it.
Below are some “little” things as part of my relaxing self-care routine and make life a little sweeter.
Final thoughts,
Between work, kids, commute, relationships, everything improves and success will find you when you focus on these 5 essential habits.
Spend a little time every day to read more about what you can do to take care of yourself. Look for lists of “positive affirmations” you can say to yourself all day and “self-care” acts that you can sprinkle throughout the day here and there. Start a workout routine! Don’t forget your damn water bottle. Give yourself a bedtime and stick to it. Just a little every day will make a big difference. You got this!
